Snorkeling In Tobago

Best Snorkeling Sites:

Caribbean side starting at the south end moving north

STORE BAY
- south side of the beach on the top of Kariwak Reef - shore entry

BUCCOO REEF
- Several glass bottom boats offer trips to Coral Gardens to snorkel combined with a stop at the Nylon Pool for a swim in the almost crystal clear waters here. The new snoreller will enjoy this one.

GRAFTON BEACH
- north end of beach around large rocks, max depth 15 feet - shore entry

ARNOS VALE
- excellent - north corner is probably best.

CASTARA
- I have never snorkelled there myself but people who have tell me it is very nice.

ENGLISHMAN'S BAY
- excellent - either end of the beach is good. I only know the north end myself. This is one of the most popular snoreling spots on the island.

Atlantic side from Charlotteville going south

PIRATE'S BAY
- (Charlotteville) very picturesque beach. Approach is by road up the side of the hill, park car at top, walk down MANY, MANY steps to the beach. Worth the effort.

Brain Coral

BRAIN CORAL
- Known as the world's largest brain coral, this beauty is over 2000 years old! It grows at an astonishing rate of about 1 inch every year!

Angel Reef

ANGEL REEF
- (Speyside) Excellent - access is by boat. Site is in front of Goat Island. Several operators offer glass boat boat trips out to the reef and most of them combine a tour of the bird sanctuary on Little Tobago Island which is also very good.
